Cheap quality chassis

Post by LeftyStrat »

I have no affiliation with this guy, I just want to pass on that I ordered a couple of chassis from:

http://ddawgamps.com/Amp_Chassis.php

The quality is great and the price is about the cheapest I have found for blank a chassis. Much more substantial than the Hammond stuff.

$15 for a standard chassis and $11 shipping for one or more.

Mods, if this is not appropriate here, feel free to delete. I just took a gamble on ordering these and was impressed with the price/quality ratio.

He hangs out here every once in a while.
I believe his handle is GainMaster.

I've purchased several chassis from him, including custom sized for two different combos I have built. Great quality, very reasonable (cheap really) prices, and really easy to work with.

Brain does awesome work, muuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuch nicer than the Watts chassis. They are nice and shiny, scratch-free, and substantially less expensive. I used to have to a lot of work on the Watts' chassis to get them to look acceptable.

Thanks for that link. Just what I've been looking for. I've been using Watts chassis, which I've been very happy with, but have some projects that require non-standard sizes. The .08 custom chassis will be perfect. $20? Wow!

How are you guys hooking these up to your head cabs? Do they have any holes (or squares) for that?

Extruded U-nuts work great - very simple. I get mine from McMaster Carr. You want the ones that look like this...

Cool thanks! To be clear, you drill a hole and slip those on over it right? Does it effect the chassis contact to the cover plate?

Yes, and they do have a slight thickness to them.
