jensen blackbird?

So I got a jensen blackbird and droped it into my 2x12 vert.
The cab is built so the bottom of it is closed and the top of
the cab is open. What speaker should I pair with it? I run a
mesa stilleto and weber halle into it. I dont know what on the graphs I
should be trying to fill in and what not to. I asked the same question
on tgp and bumped it for a week with no answer.

That's a tough call. Isn't the Blackbird a 100watt alnico? Probably not something many people have tried, and it's got two oddities in that it's a 100watt speaker and alnico.

Just throwing this thought out there, I'd try a 75 watt ceramic, maybe something from WGS like the Reaper or Reaper 55Hz.

I would pair it with a Celestion CL80, or a ASW KTS-70

That would make for a very nice combo...

yeah it was. I was eyeing the jensen electric lightning or a celestion g12p-80. I was looking at the scumbacks you said you where using but didnt want to throw that much cash out on a speaker ive never heard.

I really like the blackbird, it's break up is very pleasing to the ear, and tracks well to tape with a ribbon mic. I've run the 12" and 10" together in a 4x12 size cab. (1x10 + 1x12) half sealed / open. I've had nice results blending with a JBL K120 and D120. as well as the EV 12L. Some of the old altec lansing speakers (well broken in) and mixed in the front - the blackbird fills out the tone nicely.
