Trainwreck Parts; 25w 1K Cement Resistors?

Post by gearhead »

I can't seem to find any of the 25W 1K Cement resistors used in the trainwrecks? Mouser has the Xicon, but they are out of stock and the factories estimate on restock is -14- weeks!

Any other sources?? I've tried on line/google searches but so far to no avail.

Thanks,

Dave

After reading this thread, I looked at the schems from blueguitar and had a question: I'll probably try to tackle building a Trainwreck sometime in the next several months but I think I'd like to try building it with a tube rectifier, so would you still need to use a 25W 1k resistor, or does the rectifier have nothing to do with it? Sorry if this question seems lame, but I'm still fairly new to the ampbuilding thang...

a 10watt gets damn hot! I used a 25 watt and it was more reasonable.

Allyn

Gearhead, curiously our local place had everthing in 25w except 1K!

Thanks Dana for the rescue. This is a great group!
