Pot Taper Markings: Whats the Difference

OK..I'm stumped. What is the difference between the following control pots:

250K
250KL
250KA
250KB

First, who knows. Its 250K
Second 250K linear taper.
Third 250K audio taper.
Forth 250K linear taper.

A is log/audio. B/L is linear.

Do a google search for "potentiometer tapers."

Thanks..I did, but found the explanation confusing and uncertain. Furthermore, the Duncan Tone Stack Calculator indicates a "Log B" option, along with Linear and Log A, that is not linear..more like some hybrid log taper.
