True dat. I've spent some time on the power supply design today, and I have settled on L4931CZ50-AP from ST Microelectronics. It is an LDO (low drop out) fixed 5V regulator that needs only about 0.4V of head voltage.martin manning wrote:https://tubeamparchive.com/viewtopic.ph ... 949#356949 Probably want to use a low dropout regulator for the 5V when using a 5VAC filament winding for power.

Re: BTDR-3 reverb module
Maybe you mentioned it already, but why not try a dedicated DC power supply? 12V at 1A, hooked straight into your mains. They're less than $10, and if you need bi-polar just get 2 of them.
Alternately, just get a 24V supply and run it as bi-polar.
I've done all of the above on my SS builds, and they work great.

Guitar-pedal version done, and it's a winner. I went with PCB from 1776. PCB includes an output trimmer, so signal level when engaged can be matched to bypassed level. Sound is awesome. The dual 100k pot for depth adjustment allows a lot of reverberation at the deep end. The Tone control is useful. Overall sound is better than I hoped for.
Everything fits into a Hammond 1590B enclosure, but just barely. No room for battery.
Enclosure painted with flat black enamel, a bit of gold enamel, and three coats of clear.

Aren't those 1/8 watt resistors the cutest things you've ever...shit! Dropped one in the carpet!

Nice job guys! Sorry I'm late as usual...
Have you seen this? It is what Iv'e been working on to implement into an amp. I realize it is a 2 not a 3 but anyway...
