Seen a lot of the CC amps gigged regularly, they seem to hold up pretty well.

Buddy of mine uses one in a 2 amp rig and gigs it 3 times a week. He has had a sovtek GZ34 fail once in 4 years. He realised the other week that the whole time hes used it, its been on the cold bias setting ;) He loves it even more now hes realised and has it on the hot side.
So hard to play in a venue where there are too many voices telling you how it should be, and a music director who wont back you. Whether its a church or small club where volume is an issue, just too much compromise im afraid.
There is some volume that comes with great guitar tone, either you want the tone or you dont, compromise is the beginning of mediocrity.

Got a text from church today. One of the amps is dead again.

They don't know! Couldn't get them to find out. I guess they're taking it to a tech. I reminded them that they needed to get spare tubes and consider backup diodes.

That would be my bet.

Sounds like a great business. Make people wait 6 weeks for simple repairs and then charge a pile.

I'm not saying that's what their regular tech does when it comes to changing a rectifier, but that's what the guitarists are telling me about techs they use.
