I'm using the same PT (P-TF22798 from CE Dist.) in this Marshall 2204 based build--- 5V winding unsued ----- EL34 x 2 and 200uF (vs stock 100uF) first filtering node---- three 12ax7 preamp tubes.
The PT performs well and heat isn't an issue:

I'm using the smaller P-TF22723 ( http://www.tubesandmore.com/products/P-TF22723 ) in another 3 and 4 gain stage 50 watt modded Marshall type build---- again EL34 x 2 and 200uF first filtering node------ Hi input engages 4 preamp gain stages, Lo input engages 3 preamp gain stages.
This amp has been rented out for many recording projects where it has been in operation for many hrs continuously several times---- it has been rented out for stage/rehearsal use where the other amp was a Mesa Dual Rec 100 watter in a loud band.
I noticed that the PT would get moderately warm (nowhere near hand blistering) when I would push the amp on the bench and I've been interested in how this smaller Tremolux/Vibrolux PT would hold up in this application-----it seems fine.

Short clip---- 4 gain stages, no OD pedal:

Thanx folks. This is all quite encouraging.

I may want to add a buffered loop, which would add another 0.3A to the heater current =>4.65A on a 4A rated winding.

I am thinking about maybe just using this PT for the two KT88s only, and putting in a separate PS for the remaining 4 tubes, total 6.3V = 1.5A, maybe 350V DC max HT, maybe 15 - 20mA total.

I have an old Hammond 270BX and a 157G choke that could be pressed into service and they will fit the chassis, choke might be inside but that's OK. PSUD 2 gives a bit high voltage, but it would only be about 10-20V high for the loop CF.
