Doc,

No problem you have your hands full with your expanding amp models as well as the current production.

I can work on this based off of gathered info from conversions done by previous people, but each one seems to have gone different directions even as far as making a marshall 18w lite version.

I would rather try make mine as close as to what you did as possible.

Would be nice to get a Zwreck for Christmas............ : :D  Are we allowed to start bugging Brent for pre-order yet?

Mark, did that amp originally use a field coil speaker?

I know on mine that they used the speaker coil for double duty because it was also used as the choke.

The amp was used a a reverb amp for a Hammond organ. It had a light to reduce the incoming voltage and coils. See the bottom left circuit on the AO-35 schematic.

So many amps in different stages but I was able to get back briefly to this one.

Here is my basic faceplate, drilled faceplate holes and making a back plate for output jack next. Will replace 20-20-20-20 can cap and 25uf/25v coupling caps on board and rewire.

Who did the faceplate?

Might want to replace the input jack with a shorting type so you don't get excess noise with nothing plugged in.

I used frontpanelexpress

I just grabbed the nearest jack to test the hole and forgot to pick the correct type, thanks. :)

Has anyone used Dartantion's (?spelling) EF86 Lite IIB. '

Rather than building the Dr Z AO-35 version I am pressed go with the EF86 IIB and wanted to hear back on how this amps sounds, otherwise, I will go with 12AX7 in V1 for the traditional Marshall 18w Lite IIB.

Decided I love the Lite IIB better so today I built this amp. This thing is Ridiculous, glad I built it. :D

I used Brownote values for the build.

Every once in a while I'll build an amp in my usual half-planned fashion, finish it up with zip ties and say "Damn, that came out clean!". That really is a good looking build Mark, I especially like that you stuck with the vertical board and didn't have to do too many floating parts.

Cliff thanks,

I started this morning and just finished about 10 minutes ago or so. I decided I was just going to go with the Lite IIB. I was thinking of using CC but didn't have all the values I needed.

I tried to clean up the original tube sockets but ended up drilling the rivots and going new. Cleaning up the board was fun, love the smell of old solder and components. :)

This is one loud and great little amp, next I need to build a head cabinet.

Oh and how the hell can this amp be dead quiet with my wires right on top of each other, I don't know how I lucked out there.

I can probably give you all of the CC values you want in 1/2W resistors. What are you needing?

i just finish making the ghia out of a ao35. mine aint as clean as yours but the was no way i could use the stand up board. the circuit ways to long and not enuff room on the board. mine looks a little like a birds nest but its dead quiet? i might crank it up later today to see how loud it is. still need to add verb and a boost to it.

Yeah the ghia circuit is quite different isn't it. :) I decided after I built a Marshall 18w two channel that I loved the first channel a lot so the Lite IIB was a natural choice for me.

Glad you got yours going.

Cliff, I am looking for Marshall values so I can make a list and send to see if I can get those values. I haven't done that yet and was going to get some from Steve Apexjr and probably still will get some from both of you if I can.

Thanks Mike, it was very late last night when I did the voltage readings and strummed some chords.

Tonight I will let her rip. :)
