What about the tubes in your friends amp. Are they decent?
When i ordered the 6A14, it gave the option to leave the tubes out for $30 and to leave the Caps out for $15. I still have time to make that change.
Any thoughts on that?

Not sure what he got.
He just posted something about using the copper cap rectifier.
I guess if you use those you are not supposed to hook up the 5v heater wires to the rect socket.
Well he did and fried the copper cap.
He said it worked for a while then blew a fuse.
I told him to take that copper cap and throw it as far as he can.....
Get a real 5Y3GT and forget about it.
