All SS *devices* are fine with undervoltage. The only potential issue (as pointed out above) is with switching power supplies, which until very recently were almost nonexistent in audio amps. If the amp is more than a couple of years old (and if it's heavy :wink:), it almost certainly has a conventional supply.

i designed a test system using a variac with a volt and amp meter.when testing amps i slowley bring the voltage up.at about 30to 50 volts ac on pri if there is a bad short the amp meter will show about 8 to 10 amps .if there is no short it will jump up quickly then drope off as the caps charge.then i bring the voltage on up to 120vac.
