So this means you are funding the next Amp Garage Group build? Great!
You are a true humanitarian! ...bringing tone to the masses.
We will have to get Lonely Raven to make some nice face-plates with your face laser-etched on them and we will all have one on our amp that you funded.

Seems a bit of a cock move to put my face on an amp, what if i'm ugly... "Oh wait it's what's on the inside that counts." as for a group build sorry but i'm loking out for #1 this round baby needs a new pair of shoes.

I'm really interested in the howard electronics rework staton! Does anyone own one? How reliable are they? What are the pro's and cons? I really like the energy / tip saver function. I was reading and please correct me if i'm wrong but it's vacuum pump is built in so it's self contained. That is a feature I liked about the Weller. If i'm wrong and it needs an outboard unit how does that work? i know it hooks up but what do i need to purchase to go this it?. I was also looking at the wall mount shop vac's. It looks like Rigid makes a nice one for $100 and then i kept finding a yellow one for around $80 which model are people using? how big of an air compressor do i really need? could i get away with a portable pancake unit that is part of a nail gun set that is max around 110psi? then maybe i can convince the wife it's a DIY house goodie and not count it in TECH $.

funny thing if you read all the specs on the rework station it answers all the questions... I just ordered one! thanks for the link! if it's ok with the powers that be when i get the shop in order i'll post a list of tubes i have in stock at a discounted rate for the forum, i was thinking cost +15% and shipping. I'll post pictures of the room and a list of tubes in stock when i get setup i'm shooting for a mid september completion.
I ordered 7/16" foam tile for the floor to help minimize joint impact, it's like the stuff they put i garage floors but without the coin sized bumps.
who makes a good tall chair? my counters are high i'm tall and it's nice to stand and work without bending over for to long.

The wife might actually be cool she suggested last night putting up the playboy center-fold in what she now refers to as the manly room. this could be the dawning of a new age! j/k

I had a girlfriend that named my area, "The Testosterone Lounge". She was very supportive as well. I just had to find her a hobby besides Martinis.

Quick Question... the Eico 214 Vacuum Tube Volt Meter.... (for averaging?) I have a Simpson 260 Series II analog Meter what is the benifit in testing with a VTVM that i can't recieve with the Simpson? If I need one i'm happy to budget one in, but i don't want to overlap and be waisteful.
I picked up a BK 1660A for $100 shipped it offers triple 0-30VDC @5A i'm hoping that it'll be useful in FX pedal Repair.
Ok it's not often i'm excited about customer service but it's only right that i give praise when it's earned.
Jerry and his Wife at Howard Electronics (800-394-1984) are Top Knotch! Super nice people! and more then willing to answer questions, and give honest reviews and stand by what they sell. I explained my needs and which products i was looking at and he actually showed me how to maximize my equipment and get the most for my dollar, and not just the most expensive is the best approach, and they shipped it out the same day! When you leave your number they call you back! If you need solder supplies you should really look them up! I wish everyone cared half as much as they do.
I haven't had any verbal interaction with the folks at compu-bias but they were very fast to process my online order and keep me up dated with invoice and tracking numbers, again a positive experience! I'm looking forward to metering all the tubes in real time.
does anyone know where i can have an HP 3310A function generator, HP 201c audio generator, and HP 120B Scope Calibrate and possibly tuned up? i would prefer the same place to save on shipping. I'm considering purchasing the service manuals and doing it myself but if it's time vrs money it might be cheaper to huck fin this project. besides it would be nice to know it's done right.
