The Sunn power amp (actually Dynaco Mark III) is a good design. I would leave the choke exactly as is. Although the choke is high current, it it actually quite small. Here's a pic for reference...

Any idea which part to use for the choke? I have a Twin choke I was going to use rated for around 90mA.
Edit: I just noticed the hammond 194G is more like 250mA which seems more in line with my PT output (I'm using an Antek donut).

Thanks for everyone's help.
I've been looking at chokes and I uncovered the dynaco kit folks having the exact same discussion and it looks like the 194G is a good choice (and already available to include on my tube store order).
I grabbed an Antek 200VA dual secondary PT which should give me about 560V peak at the choke input wired stacked for a b+ of somewhere in the 500ish region. Oddly I can't seem to find any VDC hipot number on the 194 series hammond chokes, but the 193 equivalents are all in the 600+ range so I think I'm OK. Everyone really does just route B+ through the choke, which still seems weird, but who am I to argue. I have a 100uf 630V Solen can cap I'm going to use also. Should be a big, beefy amp.
I've been rethinking the PPIMV and I think I'm ok, I mainly swore up and down I'd never build another amp without a master volume.

No need in the world for a master volume on a true Bass amp !
