Wow! That is really close. I just played with the TSC as a toy, then added stuff I can't make it account for in other places.

It really all has been done before.

I am getting modded 800 gain with a really voxy face out of this thing as it sits now.mtoo happy!

You know, it looks pretty damn close to a Plexi (56k, 250p, 22n, 22n,) stack too :)

The Bruce Zinky stack (Fender with 22n mid and bass caps w/ 150p treble) looks like yours too with the dip right at 1k, although the Q looks a bit wider.

In practice it doesn't sweep like one of those at all. :)

What's different? I'll have to A/B it with a Plexi just for fun.

It isn't just the tone stack. Those changes alone made the tone clean up a bit, like adding to the difference between 33k and 56k slope with the 56 sounding clearer. Bypassing the 50k CF with 1000p and the TS changes made a tremendous poop in your pants difference.

The amp reacts like a plate drive but all the terror of a cathode follower. Rock!!!

Cool because I think I've tried every other Marshall mod!

If you have anything you haven't seen a hundred times DO TELL!!

I would like to keep it as is but do something simple to add harmonics without moving the high end. I could always use a little more chirping. :)

Sort of! lol have you ever heard that Johnny Cash song One Piece at a Time?

Yeah. Imagine that caddy built into an amp but make the song cover 2 more decades.

My only stupid Marshall trick that I never see mentioned is adding a resistor in series with the bright cap across the gain pot. It lets you keep the mid bite you want, but you can tailor the height of the 'boost', which keeps things from getting ice-picky at lower gain settings. I've found this to sound clearer than resorting to big grid stop on the stage after the pot (or some other method of treble reduction).

For your particular 'problem', you could try the Dave Friedman input stage.

Haha he almost guessed what I am already doing!

Good point on the 1-10k (?) on the bright circuit. I have never used that idea there but I have at the mixers with a trimmer to shelf highend gobbledee guck before.

More like 100k to 1M. Same idea as the mixer, of course, but you know how with say a 470p over the gain it can get really thin and nasty when the gain is low? This fixes that.

I've actually done this on my X10 already. I modded the tone stack for a 1k dip. I think I used 50p/100k/5n/10n/22k

EDIT: Vox tone stack..
