Craftsman has a good step drill bit for a little less money.
For IEC I drill the four corner holes, jigsaw, and square file.
Or I use my little milling machine, but setup time is more than doing the above.
I really ought to get a punch for that.
LOL at rp's method!

man I would love an affordable D punch for the IEC mains plug...
200 dollars new from greenlee...
usually go for about 80 on ebay when they shop up which isn't that often.
Wish they would just make round iec mains.

I'm guessing they have to offer no possibility of getting loose and rotating.diagrammatiks wrote:Wish they would just make round iec mains.

Well they could still make the IEC round but have the two mounting ears on the sides. Just for us if nothing else

I was just cleaning my bench this morning what a mess.
Well anyway I decided to snap a picture of my punches used inaddition to the various step drills. Thought it might help those wanting to get some tools.
The 18mm for Belton novel sockets (9 pin)
The 22mm for porcelain type
The 30mm for Belton octal sockets and can caps 50/50 etc.
The Greenlee set is actually for electricians conduit which is larger then the hole size ID verses OD.

Sho nuff, just got the Greenlee 30mm of ebay, supposedly new for $25 shipped. We will see. I never bothered checking for an odd size like that. Thanks for the inspiration.Gaz wrote:You can find Greenlees on Ebay for cheaper - don't pull the trigger on the All-spec one just yet.
