Octal equivalent to 5751? (and now 5C3 thread)

Thanks Cliff. No don't open it up just yet. I'm going to play with this some more. There are a few things I need to try, ie: isolate the input jacks, change the anode resistors and such. I'm having a hard time understanding why the first amp came out so good and this one is so bad..Same design, same layout , same components..Makes me think it has to be cold joint related but that does not appear to be it.
