I never thought anyone would want to see photos. I opened the variac up and took a few.
The camera really exaggerates dust and cracks. The variac looks a lot better than this.
I could probably clean the mends up with a little acetone.
My guess is that the Going Postal Service dropped the variac so something hit the socket area, wiping out the plastic around the rim of the socket and cracking the corners off the terminal board.
