That is great info and a really sweet guitar. In High school my best friend bought an old Epiphone that was a lot like that one. We never found the love for it because we were really into Skynard and Hendrix tone... That old Epiphone, an original Firebird, an early Stratocaster, and an Orange amp were among the pieces we traded away for Peavey and Acoustic gear that nobody wants these days... wish I could have those choices again!

Deam Saratoga with Memphis Retrotron pickups
Well,
I decided to just go for the whole change at once and replaced both pickups with the Guitar Fetish Memphis Retrotron pickups. It sounds very cool and nice and crisp... of course I had to change the strings (long tedious process) and most guitars sound kinda nice and crisp after you change the strings.
I used a set of the light gauge "Pyramid" flat round strings... said by many to be a critical part of the "jangle tone". http://www.pyramidstrings.com/st-guitar.html
Should be fun while it makes my fingers stronger. It is enjoyable to play the guitar and I'll need to play it a while now and see if I like how it has turned out.
