I find them to have a great color palate, great bass, mids and trebles with a clarity about them. I would love to build another Dr Z Route 66 and use the UL taps.

To the guys that have used them, do you find them hifi-ish in any negative ways - sterile, lack of color? It's a rhetorical question since you are all very pleased but fear that they are too good is what has kept me from trying one of their OTs. In other words, do they rock & roll?

To my ears, the Hammond OT's I've used sound way more hi-fi than any edcors I've used...and they did and do, rock. I don't remember the word "sterile" ever coming to mind when using them.
