Maz GT is a vox AC30 w/o a tone stack, or anything else 'fancy'. Someone had to say it, right?

Re: dr z mazerati gt
say what? Z just told us about the topology of maz gt.
anything worth doing, is worth doing right
Re: dr z mazerati gt
Well the Doc used to be very active in amp building forums years ago and I think he misses the interaction maybe.
Doc, tell your lawyer that your going to start selling Zwreck kits wether he advises it or not.

Re: dr z mazerati gt
Yes the technical interaction is nice.
I enjoy the give and take, I appreciate learning something new.
I'll help out , but no kits, I don't have enough phone time available to support it.

Re: dr z mazerati gt
Doc,
On the Maz GT is the grid resistor on V1b anywhere from a 10K to 68K? Some amps don't use any in that spot but the Maz GT appears to have a grid resistor off the tube pin coming off the wiper of the pot.

Re: dr z mazerati gt
That is a 820 Ohm oscilation suppresor.
Must be mounted on socket pin.

Re: dr z mazerati gt
Thank you Mike.
An 820R suppresor, I was assuming that it was in the 68K to 100K glad I asked.
I'm going to order a Heyboer PT 300-0-300 250mA 35w rating, 5v and 6.3v and the Dyanclone A-470-S OT 4k3, 4/8/16 35w rating and get started on my version of a Maz GT should be fun. This one is going in a TW cherry cab a little wider than usual as the Ken Watts chassis I am using is 17.5 x 8 x 2.5 plenty of room to work in. JJ can caps and eyelet board. Rather than a MV I'll use the watt control at the tail of the PI.

Re: dr z mazerati gt
That all sounds good Mark.
Have a ball, just remember with that much gain, keep your leads short, and watch transformer placement.

Re: dr z mazerati gt
Thanks Doc,
That Brian May AC30 is very similiar no tone circuit just all gain.
