Has anyone tried tone slut trans in a marshall application
Just curious to see if this has been done and what the results were. I have the vintage express output 6.6k setup for el34s. It seems to be the same impedance as the ones I see for the marshall 50 watter so I figured it should work.
Re: Has anyone tried tone slut trans in a marshall application
I guess the only question would be is it rated for 50 watts? I think it is rated for a very conservative 35w/6.6k and probably up to 50 watts.
Your looking at pushing two EL34s from 50 watts and higher more like 60 watts conservatively for push-pull EL34.

You certainly can try it, but I am not sure that they are right for the application. Ask Chris directly as he is a knowledgeable amp guy.

That's twice the primary impedance that Marshall uses for EL34's. Unless you compensate on the secondary side and run ultra low plate voltage & dissipation with the 34's, you're better off running KT66's in a JTM build that matches the impedance and won't go over the wattage rating.

Have never built a Marshal 50 watter, but believe the typical plate voltage is a bit higher than what you can get from the (current) Tonesluts. But give him a shout.
