Johnson TOD-9

Post by benoit »

I have a Johnson Tube Screamer knock off that I'm looking at for a friend. Schematic doesn't exist online and Johnson didn't even reply to my request for one. So far I checked all the ground connections, reflowed all solder joints, and checked every resistor. I'm not sure what to do at this point. I'll probably order e-lytic replacements from mouser since they'd cost all of 2 bucks for all of them and try replacing those. Otherwise I'm not sure what to do besides trace out the schematic and figure out where voltages and stuff should be.

The pedal passes signal when bypassed but when the effect is engaged there is nothing but hum. It's close to a B in pitch so that should be 120/60hz, no?

I know this isn't really a pedal forum but there are loads of guys on here who know loads of stuff, and this is my home forum, so to speak. Any thoughts?
