That discussion of harmonic distortion is good. There is a direct correlation
between musicality and the spectra of harmonic distortion that an amp produces.
The parallel operation of a 12ax7 is fairly common and fig. 2 is the
demonstrated reason, fairly gradual and even distribution of even and odd order distortion
with predominant 2nd order distortion.
