Recapping an old Traynor

You do realize that the bias caps get connected with the + end towards ground right?
You are supplying negative voltage to the grids of the power tubes.

C28 and C29 are the bias caps, they have their positive end towards ground.

All other caps are connected with the negative end towards ground.

I do now Structo.

Any idea why the can caps might have bulged even after I wired the bias caps with the positive to ground?

No not really, unless they were damaged when you powered up with the caps backwards.
