Newbie! i am about to embark on this quest....

i wish to build a 15-30 wat guitar amp, i just sold my badcat classic cat r and would like to build a clone of it. the challenge is this is my first build and i am in need of direction. have a couple of old pa amps from the 60's which i intend on using for parts after a breakdown and assesment of the components to make sure everything is usable and discard the trash. have been surfing the net and would really like a list of tools needed, soldering iron sourced,multimeter sourced, any thing else to add to the list would be helpfull. i am nervous about this as i am fully aware of the dangers and would like to know the proper safeguards to adhere too. thanks and wish me luck on this journey...

You may want to consider starting with something simpler such as one of the AX84 SE (single-ended) projects. That's how I got my feet wet.
