Sorry for the newb question, but I figured this crowd would know if anyone would...
I'm looking for the LCR caps pictured below. Google hasn't been much help - the only U.S. location that lists them in their web site says they're out of stock, and list values other than what I'm looking for in the first place. I'm looking for the twin-8uf and twin-16uf cans as shown below. They're perfect for the build I'm doing ('compact' being the key word).
I'm wondering if this brand is no longer available? I hope I'm wrong and that I just haven't found them yet. If they're still available, can someone point me to a source.
Thanks in advance.

Not gonna find them
F&T makes a 16/16uf 450 Can that is 1-3/8" x 2" and an 8/8uf multi section "axial" (2 leads on one end, ground on the other) that is 1" x 1.5". Personally I would just replace the cans with modern singles that actually take up less space than the cans.

Re: Not gonna find them
Thanks - I've seen those; in fact I have one of the 8/8 axials on the bench. For this specific build, there isn't room on the board for axials, and mounting a bunch of individual singles off-board is more work than I want to do for this project if I don't have to. I will if I have to, but if I can find any of those old LCRs in the bottom of someone's parts box, I'd rather.collinsamps wrote:F&T makes a 16/16uf 450 Can that is 1-3/8" x 2" and an 8/8uf multi section "axial" (2 leads on one end, ground on the other) that is 1" x 1.5". It looks like the four bolt holes for the can clamps would hold two tag board terminal strips for easily adding the individuals. Just a thought.

You're right... Like I said, I may end up doing that... but I figured it was worth a try to find the LCRs like I used on my first prototype of this project. My expectations weren't very high on finding them, but with this crew here, I figured I might turn some up...collinsamps wrote:It looks like the four bolt holes for the can clamps would hold two tag board terminal strips for easily adding the individuals. Thanks. Those guys are just across town from me. I do a lot of business with them. It's nice having them so close; I can just drive over to pick up my order if I need stuff in a hurry.M Fowler wrote:http://www.tubesandmore.com/
Under capacitors section it states replacement for LCR good luck.

I've seen about everything in their filter cap inventory. They have a great assortment, which helped me out greatly in the work I'm doing on a customer's 1960 Gibson GA-40 amp right now. But none of what they have in the multi-section range is as compact as those old LCRs. Those little things were perfect for this project where I have VERY little room.
I've already done what I was trying to avoid - mount a bunch of singles on a Radio Shack project board. I needed to get my personal project off the bench so I can finish up that GA40.
Thanks, folks!

I just used a JJ multi cap and it is pretty compact.
