Its a common thing to have happen. The company is hard to deal with too.
It is after all your own damn fault. It not the chip or transistors or diodes.
I was given a blown one and went that far. I think its the resistors. They are
1/8 watt, when I get back around to it I was gonna try some freeze spray
to try and ID which. There are some good scheme and layouts out on the
web. And yes, they are a major P.I.A. to dis-ass-emble.
Attached is a pic/schematic that may be representative of your pedal. If so, check the diode in parallel with the filter cap, it may have shorted first and saved the rest.

Yeah I learned that lesson a while back with my Xtreme pedal it uses AC not DC so I didn't hurt it applying DC current, thankfully. Went out to find an AC wall wart for it the old one died years later. Of course I got the stupid deer in the headlight look They said well they all plug into the AC outlet!
Then I had to explain I know that dummy but I need one that steps down to 9 volts AC not DC thank you very much. Found one at radio shack and the smart thing they did was made it in white color rather than black so I always know which one belongs where. Got luck with your fulltone.
