Re-winding my JMP Power Transfomer?

Post by Decko »

Hi Gents,

Where might I find information on re-winding the power transformer on my JMP 50? Where would one find the proper guage wire?

Just a thought...please advise!

Thanks,
Danny

You would simply unwind it counting the turns and measure the wire size with a micrometer. If you know what the voltages are supposed to be you probably wouldnt have to count the secondary turns, you could just calculate it from the volts per turn of the primary winding. Unless your time is not very valuable I wouldn't recommend it because you will have a lot, I mean a lot, of time invested in it when you get through. I know this from personal experience.
If you are just wanting to know where to get the wire you need to call your local electric motor rewind shop. I know that because that my day job. :D
