What a cool looking amp!

Post by Cobra »

Apparently, a member of the 18 watt forum built the amp. From the picture, it looks like 18 watt topology, with one channel having volume & tone, & the other channel TMB... I just love the look of this amp! Functional art for sure! I dig the countersunk screws, the polished cap can, & the shape & paintjob on the chassis & trannies. The chassis paint looks to me like a candy sparkle burgundy burst!

That is cool looking. :D

I wonder how it is made?

I mean is the front panel separate from the chassis and does the bottom come off?

Very space ship looking.

Do you have the link to that amp?

Yeah I checked it out.

The guy made the chassis by hammer forging it.

Very elegant amp although not very practical if gigged.

I like it.

I saw that and immediately thought "suppository."

I suppose that says more about me than it does about the amp.

Really, it does look very cool.

That would have been my first guess. Beautiful work. I've been around guys that make aircraft wheel pants with nothin' but a shot bag and a pair of hammers. You gotta love to do it.

I spent a couple of hours in a woodwork tool and die shop at a big foundry. You ought to see a 10 foot tall pillow block made out of hard rock maple. They wanted me to take the night shift process control design/repair tech job. Anyway these guys sculpt stuff out of hardwood, polish to a mirror finish, then make molds for metal casting. Incredible. Wouldn't that be a trip. A poured bronze chassis. Anyway, foundries are the worlds worst place to work. Oooops, thread theft.

That is some nice art there... Just looking at their products makes me want to buy one. Packaging is powerful advertizing. How much you bet this person also builds custom motorcycles.

I just noticed that metal piping coming off the OT, that's awesome.

Does anybody else feel that the cheapo caps, resistors, and pots are out of place?
