I did find one difference in the layout / version 3 schematic I didn'tnotice it when i was checking the schematic to the layout cause i didn't have the Hammond 125A transformer to check against. in the layout the wiring is correct but in the schematic the resistance is correct but the wiring is wrong. to get 8 Ohms with a 22500 ohm resistance you need to us 4-2 like in the layout. both are right but the layout has the correct transformer terminal numbers.

Do you have the source for the turret board template tool, Id like one of those.

Looks like a fun build!

Yes! the big metal bar with all the holes in it? It's a $100 @
www.Hoffmanamps.com if i'm wrong just google hoffman amps It's really handy and if you make your own boards it pays for it's self quickly.

In hind sight I think I cold have made the boards even smaller. the Power supply board could have shrunk by a 1/3rd and i probably could have moved in 2 eyeholes worth of space on the preamp card. but they did both fit as they are.

I might be making another amp for a friend in a week. i could make another card set for the cost of parts and labor. probably ~$30?

That would be John Calhoun and his website is here: http://web.mac.com/calhoun/PCB/Firefly_PCB.html

He has a nice PDF build guide on there as well.

I just finished stuffing the PCB from John. PCB is nicely done and worth $23 shipped.

Since the last post i've added a line out with a volume knob so it can be run as a distortion pedal or direct to a recording console / DI and not over loud the input. Or boost if needed. I've tolexed the head and cabinet. cut speaker holes and ordered the last of the parts to complete the Build. (1) carling SPDT switch on-off-on for the ground switch. a set of rubber feet for the speaker cab. and (2) Jensen MOD 8" 4ohm speakers for an 8 ohm load. from tubes and more all scheduled to arrive tuesday. I purchased some wozen cloth from the fabric store I'll try for a grill cloth i'm not sure it'll be right but it's worth a shot it was only $10 a yard. The tolex is a Light pink marine vinyl i found on Ebay for $9 a yard. I'm estimating to be under $220 with all parts for this build. Labor is another matter. It's been close to a 30hr build. had i not stapled and glued the corners i could have routed the edges and cut at least 4 hours off the build. I'm NOT AN UPHOLSTRY GOD!! that took me a long time too, luckily my friend was willing to help.
