Silk Screening

Post by selloutrr »

I was looking at the SLOClone and own an Actual SLO and don't see why i couldn't build an exact copy. The SLO clone chassis is pretty close but added a couple extra holes and a bias That just bug the shit out of me!
It just seems like a waste to go so far and then not go all the way!
Question..

Who can I send the correct CAD drawing to and get a chassis bent, punched, powder coated, and silk screened?

But in the end a SLOclone is ~$1500 so I'm Easily looking at $2000 to due this right and a real Soldano used is probably $2200 if i look.
Nevermind it's a stupied build, but the link to a chassis builder might be a good thing to have on file.

Not many chassis companies will take on that project unless it is a sample of a production run, or you might be looking at a $500 Chassis. What I would do if you really want to find one is look for a shop that laser cuts, there will be less tooling involved.

I've got just the place that will take on a project like this... send me a note and I'll hook you up.

I have a long time friend in the machine shop business that can supply any chassis we ask for... below are some links to my sight which represent his work... These chassis are all .093 5052 aluminum with all the corners fully welded. Most of them are CNC machined before they are folded but If you want a very simple aluminum box, he can do that too...

As you can see he has made me some great chassis, faceplate, and rear panel sets. The panels are anodized and the text machined in and they look awesome. The shop also has fabricated various circuit boards for me using G-10 material and they have also been excellent! I can provide these parts for anyone that is interested in them, although I do have limited supplies and the turn around time is slow for more of them. I a hobby and curiosity builder and not a manufacturing house.

I am willing to pass on the name and number of the place to you directly... send me a PM for info.

Recently the shop has been working with a screen printing shop in Albuquerque and the owner suggested we have some finished chassis lettered this way... I'll be doing this anyway for my own if there is interest in additional units then I'll consider you as partners and pass on the savings.
