Hey guys,
I've finally got some time together for a new project, and I've got a very cool piece to work with. I got a hammond A0-35 reverb amp from a buddy of mine, and I'm trying to decide what to do with it. I've seen some layouts out there for ghia style amps, but I don't really want to clone that. I wasn't super impressed with the ghia I tried, it was nice, but I wasn't floored. I tried a goodsell super 17, and I really love it, though I don't nessicarily want to try to make a copy of a current production amp. One day I'll eventually get together the cash to buy one....
I rigged up a 1/4" input, and a very basic volume control. It sounds good, very full and lots of harmonics, and it drives nicely, but it really needs to be opened up. The highs on the amp are just buried and muffled. What should I do to open this amp up? Also, there is a 50uf cap that someone added that is behind the board (something I've not seen in any other A0-35)..... I appreciate any advice anyone can give on how I can make this amp come alive. Thanks.
New project!!!
