Need comments on schematic

Post by rutledj »

Here is an idea I've been working on. It is basically a Fender Blues Deluxe amp with some mods. I added a tube reverb ckt where the original had opamps so I'm not sure I've implemented everything correctly.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Also, here is a link to the original print

Thanks,
Rut

Hi Rut,
V1B lacks of cathode biasing resistor.
The point in which you put reverb is a classical fender, it should work!

I don't see a coupling cap before the dwell control. Typically Fender uses a 500pF cap in this location. It will most likely be fine without it, but the reverb may be a tad muddy.

i would also like to see a 500p cap feeding the driver
ive played with it some and without the cap or with a value that is too large
there can be significant stability issues... low frequency occilation through the
tank....just be aware of it
theres a couple more options to explore too
you can play with the tube type of the recovery... the fender circuit was always a bit much....
try a lower gain tube 12ay7... 12au7...etc...
and if you drop the 2.2M mix and use two masters ...one for straight
and one for verb you can dial in some killer surf

at V1b
you can use a zero bias configuration here by grounding the cathode
but youll have to insert a good sized cap .02 maybe.. between the volume pot. and grid... and a large value resistor say 2.2 M to 15M from the grid to ground to create bias. ... over driving one of these sounds good until it is completely overwhelmd and goes into shut off.....
