Can some of you take a look at this fender blues deluxe schematic
http://www.blueguitar.org/new/schem/fen ... deluxe.gif
And explain how the volume control is working? It appears that in the od mode that it is completely disconnected. Also the master vol appears disconnected in drive mode.?
I'm working on a similiar ckt and want to modify it
Thanks,
Rut

Re: Questions about this schematic
looks like a relay is used to change how R7, R17 and R28
are applied in the circuit to change the drive conditions
it does look confusing....
relay ry1 disconects the volume and presets the gain with a 510k in"ondrive"
and ry2 presets the drive to 6.8k and disconnects the master....in "off drive"
I am assuming they work together and trying to assume a functional condition(s)...

Re: Questions about this schematic
Just seems wierd that you would disconnect the vol control to where it has no control under certain conditions and the same for the master vol.

Re: Questions about this schematic
its hard to go between a real amp and one with a master volume
I know that statement will get some people going
there is always a tradeoff between user wants and the simplest form
distortion early in the pre usually means a master
but if you want a more traditional responce you need to simplify
I remember player responses to these amps was they loved the clean
but found the dirt a bit coarse..... its hard to feature both
