Bingo! That would explain all your switching issues. Swap places with the input and ground wires.

So that would also be solved by rotating the switch 180 degrees then, right?

I’ll certainly report back with impressions. If what I’ve heard so far is any indication - I’d give the edge to the AC15 channel; but I’ll wait and test it more before deciding.

Thanks again for all your help.

No. You must swap the input and ground wires on the switch.

Ok, got everything straightened out now and I have to say that I like both channels for different reasons - but if I could only have one - it would be the Vox side. However, the jumped position is probably my favorite right now.

Here’s the current numbers with 120.6 vac coming out of the wall:
A - 318
B - 297
C - 268
D - 266
V4 & 5 (well used, matched pair of JJ EL84) plates: 309, cathodes: 10.6
V3 (JJ ECC 83S) pin1: 201, pin6: 200, pin8: 64
V2 (International “made in W. Germany” EF86): pin1: 99, pin3: 2.2, pin6: 79
V1 (Sovtek 12AX7 WXT): pin1: 157, pin2: 0, pin3: .9
Calculated 10.6w per tube dissipation with stock value 150R.

Sounds pretty good with the WGS Green Beret. That’ll be staying for now.
Completed “in the cab” shot forthcoming within the week.

Thanks again Steve, I appreciate the help! This design is elegant in its simplicity and roars like a lion!

Well, you've had a week to play around with the amp. What's your opinion today?

BTW, while I was in the mood to draw, I put together another Dual amp. I started with the Dual Lite and replaced the Marshall preamp with the Vox AC-30 top boost preamp. I call it the Vox Double Shot. Take a look. May give you some ideas for down the road.

I actually made time to take a picture of it for the “proof of build” shot and planned to post today - so great timing.

- I love this thing. It’s quiet, both channels are useful and sound good, and it’s pretty loud for a small foot print amp.
- Glad I didn’t include the master volume; I don’t need it. Its volume at what I consider the sweet spot is pretty comparable to the Tweedle Dees’ at its sweet spot - so that’s perfect. Seems like the AC15 side is notably louder than the 18w side up until about 50% volume - then they seem comparable.
- My assessment of the channels from a week ago hasn’t changed… Both channels on is definitely my favorite.
- Still playing with the brilliance though; can’t pick a favorite there yet.

Thanks again Steve! I will definitely look at the Vox Double.

For the next week or two I’m digging into my ‘76 Vibrolux Reverb trying to apply the lessons I’ve learned over the past 18 months to try and “un-CBS” it. There’s got to be about a mile of extra wire in there and a ton of wax. Should be interesting.
