Sorry for the very late response all, been quite busy, intended to start looking at this again last weekend but I then fell ill. Typical!
I can't take oscilloscope recordings with the software, only images and I was testing into a reactive load.
The capacitor I'm using for my Vox Cut Control is a proper coupling cap and I vaguely recall trying to remove it from circuit at some point.
I did rewatch a rehearsal video and noticed that when starting a song the amp was clean as it should be, then when the song gets going I basically play the same chords but a bit more (Instead of hitting a chord twice I hit it three times) and at this point the amp becomes a bit distorted. It's almost as if the operating point or something is changing. So if I hit a single chord I can hear the static, but if I keep hitting the chord it makes the amp sound like it's distorting. Like blocking distortion I guess although if it was that the distortion would be instant and much worse I'd have thought.

Re: Amp Crackle
Finally had a chance to look at this properly. Turns out, it’s not the amp at all! It’s my attenuator. Played through my JTM50 on the edge of breakup, exact same static crackle. Will dig into the attenuator another night but hopefully it’s just a loose connection.
