I see the 372bx has a 50v out, damn it is way more expensive too
For me to better understand, the princeton transformer has 2 secondary and one is 550vac and you said that this one was sill a bit high, i guess you were referring to the 630vac out right? Then why is the 372bx a better choice? Mainly for the 50v out?
I d like to understand because the difference between 600 and 550 is not that much, in my head at least.
You are not limited to the Fender replacement units, have a look at their more generic series also.
My go-to supplier in Europe announced just last week that Hammond had raised the prices by up to 100%! So perhaps check out other alternatives too.

270CAX is a generic PT, not necessarily a Princeton replacement. 550 VAC is a bit low; I'd guess the DC voltage at around 370. I like 372BX for hitting the correct voltage, its upright mounting (no large chassis cut-out), and the 50V bias tap. The lower voltage taps on the 270CAX would work, and a bias circuit like the Princeton uses would be easy enough. Is your local line voltage 240?

He is in Italy so that rules out the 270CAX, it's limited to 120V primary. The 372BX comes with universal primary.

I don't know about where you are, but voltages in the US have crept up over time, so amps from decades ago run at higher voltages. I look at the Fender Reissue series as their attempt to replicate the sound of the originals running on modern line voltage, and they chose to go with just under 400 VDC for the '65 DRRI.

Yes, I meant to say 290CAX, as in the data sheet posted above.

I know, with my experience it was easier to search for fender replacement. I understand what to look for now thank you.
About the prices, still normal for now. They are already incredibly expensive and i really don t understand how could a company double their prices from one day to another, i mean double. The 372bx would then go for 270 euros, insane.

I usually buy from here, a little more expensive but they got everything so i don t have to pay further shipping costs by ordering from other sites.
As you can see the price is still ok.

Unfortunately i can not say the same thing about the warehouse speakers, they bumped the price not so long ago about 40%. I really like this brand, i have a veteran wgs 10 and i love it.

That must be the reason. I hope they won t raise the prices any soon. I can t afford right now.
The overall cost is pretty hight once you collect all the parts. Tubes and components and everything, I m well above the 600 euro and I m not counting the cabinet because I am a wood worker and a got plenty of wood (which i pay anyway ).

Now what to do with the unused triode? Add the bias modulating tremolo from the 6G3.
A couple of other changes are shown:
The Brown channel plate and cathode resistors have been changed to 6G3 values to complete the Black/Brown Deluxe theme, and a 220k has been added to the Brown output to balance the overall gain of the two channels. Lastly, the Black channel now has a mid control.

I wanted to add the 6g3 tremolo circuit but then, i want adjustable bias so i decided i could live without.
I d like to keep it as simple as possible cause I already went too far with the two channels and phase problems.
