Hi all…..my second post regarding the Fender Custom Shop ‘64 Re-Issue Vibroverb with the Cesar Diaz modification, that I own.
Even on the slowest setting/position, the tremelo speed is way too fast for my taste. I honestly would like it to barely wobble on the slowest position and to have a moderately fast wobble on the highest setting.
I have read somewhere that there is a mod to slow these down. My questions to the board are:
A) How easy is the mod to do?
I am not a repair tech at all but I’ve done a lot of soldering in my life, so I’m not afraid of that……I’m more sketchy about the voltages in these amps and getting a cap discharge shock.
B) If it is a matter of changing or adding a component like a resistor…….any idea what value resistor I should go for?
Thanks.

Re: Tremelo speed
You can have a slow wobble or a fast chorus like trem, but not both, as the phase shift oscillator has a narrow range. See info here:

Re: Tremelo speed
You just need to add another cap/caps across c20, 21, or 22(assuming this is the correct schematic). Bigger cap, slower tremolo. Add .01uf at a time until you get the speed you like. At some point it will get so slow it has trouble kicking on.

Re: Tremelo speed
Look for sluckey’s LED cathode mod on the AB763. (?) I put it on a switch between stock and it slows it down even more. I also swapped one small trem cap for another large one. “Date Night” mod.
Just plug it in, man.
