I like to offer up as lesson my 1 hour long experience of anger with this amp.
I retubed it with all new preamp tubes as all of the 2008 originals where shot.
When I fired the amp back up it was worse then it was with the old tubes!
The amp could not even muster up 2 watts of clean power before clipping!
I found That as I progressed testing thru the signal chain that one side of the PI tube was not conducting which was strange since I had proved out that all the components on that side of the PI tube where good.
After looking over the schematic and finding out that this tube is powered by DC I swapped it with another non EH tube , and Bingo the amp was fine once again!
I had forgot that certain EH preamp tubes are not compatible with having DC on there filaments.
Lesson relearned here!
