Looking for info on Sal Trentino mods and amp info

Post by fopoman »

I wanted to see if we could start a compilation of Sal Trentino Amps and mods info. I talked to him via email before he passed. I believed he was a legend in his own right. He was really proud of the amps he built for Pearl Jam. Just a thought

Thanks folks,
Nate

I think any inventive design modifications deserve to be preserved!

What did he base his desings/mods off of ?? Fenders? Marshalls? etc? I seem to remember both the Pearl Jam guitarists favored different amps, one fenders, the other marshalls, but it's been a while :D

I hadn’t heard of him. Tell us more about him and his mods. I found this with a quick search.

I talked to him before he passed away. He designed the Whizzer for Neil young. he built two amps for Mike McCready and stone Gossard. From the looks of their amps...may have been Dumbleish. I thought maybe a tech out there in the universe might have serviced them.

The whizzer is an impressive bit of work. I’m surprised there hasn’t been more interest in building one. I thought there would be enough Neil Young fans here.
