Two Questions about.my Fender Pro Jr.....

Post by zozoe »

Hi all,,, great old school amp, but my only gripe is that when I'm only almost halfway up on the volume, it practically full tilt,,, AND on the tone, there's a wee bunch of extra high end between 8 & 10...
So, I should keep the values, but go logarithmic... From what I've described, they sure don't sound like logs,,,?? If I want to check them, disconnect them, meter them & check for their behavior?

ALSO, as I prepare to replace the piece of "you know what' input jack on this Pro Jr., now a Tonedog Pro Sr., I see shunting & non,,, why and when would I desire or need the shunting type jack for my purpose?

Many thnx, Kenny 🕉🎶

The jacks in the Pro Jr. are shunt type so you need to replace them with shunt type. Look at the schematic to see what the shunt does.
