Re: Bass Amp for a friend
Thanks gents! It was a fun build (but I'm glad it's done
)
Roberto, to address your question in the other thread about AB2, I wanted to test the amp a little conservatively and then increase the current, if needed. I took measurements variac'd to 120VAC but the mains at my friend's place is 123.5VAC so the current is probably running a little higher than 48mA. I plan to get into the amp again later this week and take one more round of measurements and maybe bump up the current a little, or just leave it alone and call it good. It sounds really good but it probably could be even louder.

Great, thank you! If you want to run a test, try to change the load from a simple resistor to a CCS on the drivers. The driver will better follow preamp signal.
Re: Bass Amp for a friend
This is fantastic! Any chance of hearing some sound clips?

You';ve inspired me to go back and finish designing my Sunn Sorado derived build.
We build because we must.

Anything inspired by Rush is a gift to the world IMO. That amp is beautiful, man. I really like the board over the power tubes, socket screw access and all.
Just plug it in, man.
