New KT-88
Been working on a cabinet for this KT-88 amp I finished a few months ago. I'm experimenting with the cab to get a more even response independent of position.
I originally wanted to use the horn sheaths to disperse mids and treble to the rear of the cab while making the cab generate a bigger low end. The rear horn slot is so small I decided to port the cab also to keep from pressurizing the cab. I figured I could cut two ports in the bottom and make little horns to direct the sound to the sides. I hoped it would work as I want to make a cab for the Maggie project that does this, directing one speakers output left and one to the right, for maximum stereo spread.
With a baffled speaker held in place with a few screws it performed well. The frequency response was the same, front, back or sides. There were some resonances when I swept the cab 80Hz-8kHz. But the speaker is barely held in place. After all is finished I'll sweep it for resonance and deal appropriately. Here are some images of the work in process and a sketch of the goal.

Re: New KT-88 amp
I probably should've posted this in speakers and cabinets.

Well here she is. Still finish work to do but it works well in the shop. Have to take it out for a test drive.

Woah! That's a surprise reveal--it's very menacing now, like a Tim Burton night stand or William Burroughs typewriter...watch out it doesn't try to snack on your leg!

Re: New KT-88
The phone camera and angle make the top look larger, (and more menacing), but the sides are parallel.
