Fixed bias supro thunderbolt variant

Post by rkscott7 »

This is my newest build I had a peavey classic 30 PT and OT given to me I decided I'd build a thuderbolt type circuit except with a fixed bias. The bias board has individual trim pots for each tube, I used the filament off of the PT for negative bias of the 6L6s. This worked fine even though the voltage was only about 31 vac because the plate voltage was only about 340. I used a separate filament transformer .

After playing with it for a day I have decided to put in standard size trannies in it. It breaks up too quick and its starved for power I am keeping the fixed bias though I like the idea of maybe getting at least another 5 to 10 watts more out of the circuit. My last Thunder bolt I used OEM classic tones this time I am using a band master type classic tone OT and a universal 40/50 watt PT.
