Orange or120 standby switch

Post by davebolden44 »

I recently purchased a 1973 Orange OR120. I was curious if anyone here knows of a 3 position toggle switch that would fit and work in this amp to add a standby. I am ordering new caps and grid resistors to have for the health of the amp and thought a standby would be a good addition as well. I dont want to use the slave out or the echo jacks to mount a toggle. Thanks

You don't really need a standby switch. See: http://www.valvewizard.co.uk/standby.html

Duely noted, thank you Martin. A follow up question, regarding grid resistors, what value and type would you recommend for this amplifier? 2.2k 5w wirewound I read someone else suggested. Would appreciate TAG opinions. Thanks

In the 120W Orange schematic I found there are 1k screen resistors and 2k4 control grid resistors. I would go with 5W wirewound for the 1k screens, and 1W CF or MF for the 2k2 on the control grids.
