I dug up a mojo deluxe chassis the other day, mounted some shit, and got a raw cab. My plan is to stain it reddish, build a single channel Deluxe + 1 stage, make it switchable, and gig with it.
I'll clean this fresh build up, but here's a clip of the mule I'm gonna draw from. This one has a 33K slope and 22n PI, but I'll probably go 12AT7 for the next one. https://youtu.be/aTodwVtbs7k

Those steel chassis make you feel like you're building something serious.
I build and repair tube amps. http://amps.monkeymatic.com
Re: AB763+1
With 6 Noval tubes it certainly can be something serious.
Tube junkie that aspires to become a tri-state bidirectional buss driver.

AND LOOK, three octal sockets! This one must have a three-phase output!TUBEDUDE wrote:With 6 Noval tubes it certainly can be something serious.

Yep. Single channel with brown harmonic vibratoTUBEDUDE wrote:With 6 Noval tubes it certainly can be something serious.
He who dies with the most tubes... wins

Sounds like fun Smokebreak.
I'm building a single channel Deluxe Reverb into a blank custom aluminum Princeton Reverb chassis for my cabinet guy. Will post a tread after I drill and punch holes.
Keep us posted on your adventure.

Re: AB763+1
You guys R crazy!
I've only become interested in playing amps with reverb and tremolo recently. I've always played quite dry, but I've been enjoying my reverb pedal someone gave me, as well as some bias modulated trems I have in a few of my amps. So, though I've built some for others, I've never built a full AB763 dealio for myself...and I guess I still haven't because this is a single channel!! Well, at least as far as the normal/vibrato trad channels go.
So, I'll have a Single channel Deluxe type amp, but I'll have the option to switch in a gain stage after the Fender 3....so, an OD channel, essentially. I've experimented with this in the past, obviously with Dumble stuff, but more specifically, keeping that Fender 3rd stage close to stock(3M3/220K, Trem loading, etc), and adding a well thought out stage after that. Not suprisingly, the results can be Dumble-esque, depending on how you voice it. Right now I have a spare triode that I may muck with later. If anything I'd like to experiment with the verb.
Clean side will be non MV and OD will have a MV. Essentially, a very controllable boost. I thought about putting relays in to switch, but honestly there are so many good boost/OD pedals now, I figured I'd wait and see if my boost is that bad ass to warrant the relays.
The +1 stage is for fun, as the most important thing here is a solid 20W clean gigging amp. (Like I need another one of those
)
I've got the board together, still waiting on some nice 100Ks to get here. A lot of these components are one-offs of stuff I have, or small stock, that it's time to put to use. Total mutt of an amp, but mostly all old stuff. Some pulls. Mojo chassis, CT iron. I got the PT with the low voltage taps I think the ones I have wired are 300-0-300. I might just use this NOS 5R4GYB too, and keep voltages way down. I've learned lately that these amps can be really sweet when turned up loud with 360V B+
