President 1x12 combo?

Anybody heard of this amp? Looks like a rebadged Gibson. Been offered one for $80. Could be a nice donor amp. I don't own a combo amp, so thought, before I dive in, I will ask the wise men here!! Have tried a Google search, came up empty.

The board is better built than either of my two Gibson combos. I am assuming $80 US? If you get chassis, working output and power transformers, speaker (as long as it's not pure crap), and cabinet (as long as it's not particle board), all of that is worth considerably more than $80. If you get tubes with some useful life, even better. The two transformers and chassis are worth more than $80. What are you waiting for? Offer the seller $50 and see where you end up!

BTW, IMO, that is one butt ugly looking control panel. It could use a makeover! It would be an improvement to just take some steel wool to it and remove what's there. Just my 2¢.

Amp works!! Agreed faceplate is BUT UGLY!!!! I will change the face plate and front Baffle. I will; also change the speaker. I have a few EVI 12's lying around . Coupling caps and filter caps I will change and obviously a thorough check of ALL components.

The guy wanted more than the equivalent of $80 ($120). I knocked him down and he has just replied with accepting $80. Tube compliment looks like 6v6 and 12AX7's, with an EZ81 type recto?(unless that tube is the PI). Will post the refurb. I will get the amp courierd do to me next week.

Spent some time to trace the schematic for this amp. I'm no expert.. But this has a strange phase inverter type arrangement. Also the tone stack seems odd.

The speaker is an Alnico and sounds as good as a G12M 65 I tried in there. The baffle board was shit.. So I will replace that as well. Recto was a GZ80 and the PT looks to have been replaced (290/290). Plates are running at 246v.

First I will tweak a bit (change tonestack to fender type), and later I will probably use the chassis as a donor to build a 5E3 type build. I have a OT and RCA GZ34 lying in wait and will find a PT (325/325). From what I've read and heard in clips.. This could be a nice little combo.
