amp design question

I'd love to build a 1-2watt version of a well idk yet. I understand you start with the power supply and move to the preamp. I also understand that no two tunes will sound exactly the same. So my question atm is would manipulating voltages to match the Graphs of two tubes result in the sound being the closest? For instance a 5902 and a 6l6 or el34
