how would load line be workable as optimal impedance is suppose to change
as b+ changes ?
I'm lookimg for 6v6 PP amp schematics that uses 6.6k OT

still seems like a complete violation of design parameters at the low voltages ?

Perfect impedance matching is important when maximum power transfer is desirable. Reducing B+ with VVR is all about lowering power output, many times even to a 'bedroom' level. So who cares about perfect impedance matching and optimum load lines when using VVR?

Thanks

p.s.: Of course the impedance match can't be performed when using the VVR, so the OT is selected to have the perfect match at full power and the mismatch increases using the VVR, as told, when you don't want the max power, you don't care about OT mismatc

I think you do care about the impedance match, to preserve headroom and tonal qualities as the power is dialed down. It's really not that far off, though, even if the voltages are reduced by 75%.Kagliostro wrote:p.s.: Of course the impedance match can't be performed when using the VVR, so the OT is selected to have the perfect match at full power and the mismatch increases using the VVR, as told, when you don't want the max power, you don't care about OT mismatc

Newb question:
Does reflecting OT primary higher by using higher ohm speaker come into play or is this a seperate issue?
6.6k with 8ohm speaker load should be reflected to around 10.5 or so using 16ohm load depending on turns ratio, right?...Just trying to learn.

If it don't get hot and glow, I don't want it !
