Capacitor repair?
I have a new 100/450 cap that the positive lead broke off where it meets the can. Is there any way to salvage it? The connection is aluminum, solder won't stick.

Re: Capacitor repair?
It's possible. There might be a lead inside the can. But you'll have to cut it open to find out.
I build and repair tube amps. http://amps.monkeymatic.com

^^^^ Which is a long way to say it's not possible
Unless you can get a micro MIG/TIG machine and microsolder that leg to the aluminum stub.
Which is another way to say that it can not be done.
There's a reason aluminum electrolytic lugs or terminals are crimped .

It's not worth the effort for a nine buck cap!
I have repaired the leads on the other end, but always toss them if it's on that end!

Re: Capacitor repair?
It looks like it was attached with a small glob of JB Weld.
