I just call Mr HO. He took plenty of time to explain me his device. Very kind person.
So, what I understood:
Badcat Unleach: Has a dummy load, and then reamplify with a Class D. More like a "digital" reamp.
Tone enhancer: No dummy load. The volume control option, the output power can be reduced to 25% (50W amp reduced to 15W). The power is absorbed by a transformer to reduce the output power. It can also amplify by the factor that we want (custom made). It can make a 10W amp throw 200W.
He uses Mosfet in Class AB.
So, when the Solid-state is off, you still get 15W of the 50W of the amp. Then, you can increase the gain to the desired volume.
It's a tone enhancer because it makes the tone "clearer" and "fatter". So it is not totally transparent. Not the same thing as the "Super Scaler".
